Abstract
Mechanisms of Action of New Biologic Agents in Rheumatoid Arthritis
Author(s): Mahim Omar*Biologic agents have revolutionized the treatment landscape for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), providing targeted therapies that modulate specific pathways involved in the disease's pathogenesis. This article reviews the mechanisms of action of newly developed biologic agents, including Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, interleukin inhibitors, and B-cell depleting agents. By elucidating how these therapies interact with the immune system, we can better understand their therapeutic potential and implications for clinical practice. Ongoing research is essential to optimize the use of these agents and enhance patient outcomes in RA.
