Abstract
Selecting patients likely to benefit from renal artery stenting
Author(s): JD Tafur-Soto & CJ WhiteAtherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (RAS) has been identified as an independent predictor of death in patients with coronary artery disease. However, the cause-and-effect relation between RAS and mortality remains unproven. It is possible that the presence of RAS is a marker for more diffuse or extensive atherosclerosis, which would result in more vascular-related deaths.
