Atypical Presentation of Parkinsonism

Abstract

A 75 year old woman was admitted to the Glocal Hospital, Krishnanagore, West Bengal, India, presenting with continuous repetitive movements of the lower and upper jaws when the lips were touching each other. Her blood pressure was 160/90 mm Hg and her heart rate was 88 beats per min. She had resting tremor predominately in the fingers. She had rigidity of muscles (cogwheel type). The patient is suffering from Parkinson’s disease. She is diabetic requiring insulin. She was treated with dopamine agonists and clinically the condition improved.
