Aldosteronism

Main aldosteronism (al-DOS-tuh-ro-niz-um) is a hormonal condition that allows blood pressure to rise. It comes when too much of a hormone called aldosterone is produced by your adrenal glands. A number of essential hormones are produced by the adrenal glands including aldosterone. Aldosterone usually balances your blood to sodium and potassium. But too much of this hormone can lead to potassium loss and sodium retention. The imbalance can allow too much water to carry your body, increasing blood volume and blood pressure. There are sometimes no specific signs caused by primary aldosteronism. The first indication that you could have primary aldosteronism is typically elevated blood pressure, which is especially hard to regulate. Medications, surgery and dietary improvements provide recovery choices.
