Carotovorum
Carotovorum is a
plant disease which is also known as pectobacterium
carotovorum and caused by a bacteria which has rod-shaped
cells and affects various vegetables. It breaks the
plant cells and give the plants a soft rot. It mostly occurs in wet lands and in wet climate. It can show varied symptoms like blackening in some vegetables and slimness in others. It can spread through air, water, touch, hand of workers etc. The bacteria will not be able to infect healthy plants which don’t have any wounds or cuts. This bacteria is favoured by high humid temperature of around 30°C.
