Clinical Psychology

In many countries, psychotherapy may be a regulated psychological state profession.  Whilst psychotherapy was growing, working with problems with serious mental distress remained the domain of psychiatrists and neurologists. However, clinical psychologists continued to form inroads into this area thanks to their increasing skill at psychological assessment. Due in large part to the success of those tests, assessment was to become the core discipline of psychotherapy for subsequent quarter-century, when another war would propel the sector into treatment. Clinical psychologists who provide clinical services can also prefer to specialize. Within us such specializations are credentialed by the American Board of Professional Psychology
