Hypovitaminosis
Vitamin D deficiency, or
hypovitaminosis D is defined as a vitamin D level that's below normal. It most ordinarily occurs in people once they have inadequate sunlight exposure.
Hypovitaminosis D may be a deficiency caused thanks to insufficient amount of vitamin D required by a living organism. It may result from inadequate nutritional intake of vitamin D along side inadequate expose to sunlight (sunlight with adequate ultraviolet B rays), deficiency that limit vitamin D absorption, and conditions that impair the conversion of vitamin D into active metabolites including certain liver, kidney, and hereditary disorders. Deficiency results in impaired bone mineralization and leads to bone softening diseases including rickets in children and osteomalacia and osteoporosis in adults.
