Meningioma:

 A meningioma may be a tumor that forms on membranes that cover the brain and medulla spinalis just inside the skull. Specifically, the tumor forms on the three layers of membranes that are called meninges. These tumors are often slow-growing. As many as 90% are benign (not cancerous). Most meningiomas occur within the brain. Most meningiomas grow very slowly, often over a few years without causing symptoms. But sometimes, their effects on nearby brain tissue, nerves or vessels may cause serious disability. Meningiomas occur more commonly in women and are often discovered at older ages, but may occur at any age. Because most meningiomas grow slowly, often with none significant signs and symptoms, they are doing not always require immediate treatment and should be monitored over time. Signs and symptoms of a meningioma typically begin gradually and should be very subtle initially. counting on where within the brain or, rarely, spine the tumor is situated, signs and symptoms may include: • Changes in vision, like seeing double or blurriness • Headaches, especially people who are worse within the morning • Hearing loss or ringing within the ears • Memory loss • Loss of smell • Seizures • Weakness in your arms or legs • Language difficulty
