Nephrolithiasis
Nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) is a condition which affects the urinary tract. Kidney stones are tiny deposits consisting of calcium , phosphate and other food components that build up in the kidneys. They are a common root cause of urine blood. Certain types of stones tend to run within families. Some types can be associated with other conditions such as bowel disease,
obesity bypass ileal, or defects of the renal tubules. A personal or family
history of stones is associated with increased risk of stone formation. Other risk factors include acidosis of the renal tubules and resulting nephrocalcinosis.
