 Nowadays drug marketrequires more efficient drug development and production. Drug development is intended to design a quality product and manufacturing process that can consistently deliver the product with its intended performance. A drug product should be designed to meet patient needs. The knowledge and information gained from drug development research and manufacturing experience offer a scientific understanding to support the establishment of specifications, design space, and production controls. A more systematic approach to development can include, for example, a combination of prior knowledge, results of studies using experimental design, use of quality risk management, and use of knowledge management throughout the product lifecycle.
