Thrombocytes
A tiny, disc-shaped piece of cell that's found within the blood and spleen.
Thrombocytes are pieces of very large
cells within the bone marrow called megakaryocytes. They help form blood clots to slow or stop bleeding and to assist wounds heal. Having too many or too few
thrombocytes or having platelets that don’t work as they ought to can cause problems. Checking the amount of
thrombocytes within the blood may help diagnose certain diseases or conditions. Also called platelet. Platelets are cellular fragments that are involved in the clotting process. Their main function is to make sure the integrity of blood vessels.If a vessel is broken ,
thrombocytes mass at the location of the injury and along side clotting agents in the plasma, then they form a clot that stops the bleeding. The life expectancy of
thrombocytes is just about five to 10 days, and hence they should be continually replenished.Thrombocytes structure under 1% of the blood's volume (about 45% is erythrocytes and afterward 55% plasma, and under 1% is leukocytes).The platelets isolated from contributor blood can made into a thrombocyte concentrate by including a capacity arrangement.Platelets from four whole-blood donors are wont to prepare one treatment dose for transfusion.
Thrombocytes also can be donated by the apheresis method.
